CHILDREN AT RISK ON THE STREETS

When Anna was 13 she suffered sexual abuse from her stepfather. Her mother sided with him. Anna’s world fell apart. She ran away from home, and ended up at The Children’s Society. Our project workers provided Anna with someone to listen to and a safe place to live.  They gave practical assistance, which helped Anna cope with her emotional trauma. Eventually she settled at a new school and is hoping to go on to higher education. With help from The Children’s Society, Anna is making the most of the positive opportunities life has to offer.

Andy, 16
